The Lockdown Business
Posted on 12th November 2020
Some businesses are thriving as a result of Covid-19. But sadly, this is not true for everyone.
Most people have come to the conclusion that transforming their business online is one of the most important ways to survive during these times, where normality feels like a distant memory.
Here are 5 tips on how you can effectively run your business online, during lockdown:
Evaluate your finances – If you find that your website is a large expense against your business you don’t need to spend thousands of pounds on a website that is secure, accessible on all devices, explains exactly what you do and generates enquires. With an it’seeze website, you can pay an affordable amount on each of our packages which will cover exactly what you need with no hidden costs! We are so proud of how competitive our prices are that we make it really easy for you to find them.
Strengthen your brand message – Try to make your message stand out against your competitors. Ask yourself “what makes my business special?” and “why should someone use my product or service over Joe Bloggs’?”. Use lockdown to your advantage by taking the time to realise what you want your business to be ‘famous for’. Use social media to direct traffic to your website and to get your brand known.
Get creative and think of ways to adapt your business – For example, if you usually sell your products at a local market, consider investing in adding a shop to your website so you can sell online instead. This will make your product more accessible to those who are unable to visit you in person, and will mean you can still generate sales. For just £55 a month you can have an it’seeze website with a full online eCommerce shop!
Research – Understand your target audience. What are they looking for? What do they want? Make sure that your website answers these questions. Although we don’t like to think about our competitors and how they are running their business, it is essential to research them so you can make your business stand out more!
Plan, Plan, Plan – Write a timescale plan of what you want to achieve in your business. See the example below for some inspiration. You can use this template to get you started, and then adapt it to work for you.
